Athletic Participation Creates Healthy Students

We understand the importance of collaboration, dedication and fitness. Here students are educated through athletics. Faculty and staff coach nearly every sports team, which creates stronger relationships, memorable experiences and builds trust. Character values, actively taught in the classroom and field, are cultivated in athletic participation as well.

Lower and Middle School Athletics

Tahoe Expedition Academy 5th to 8th graders compete in Cross-Country running in the fall and Track & Field in the spring. The Tah-Neva League, governs middle school cross-country and track and field locally. During the winter, TEA fields the only school sanctioned Biathlon TEAm in Lake Tahoe. Members of this team race against peers in CNISSF nordic races and compete in biathlon event at Auburn Ski Club, Mammoth Ski Resort and beyond. Biathlon Olympic medalist, Glenn Jobe, of the Auburn Ski Club, is one of many experts who train our athletes to be the best.

Mountain Biking Club is our newest sports team, and is a developmental team, which rides in the Nevada Interscholastic Cycling League. Team riders have the opportunity to train on some of the best single track trails in the world, right here in Lake Tahoe. This team develops rider endurance, skill and know how, ultimately preparing riders for NICA high school races.

In the Spring, student-athletes are encouraged to join local lacrosse club programs in North Tahoe and Truckee. Taylor Simmers and Eric are dedicated to growing the game as both, volunteer coaches and as board members of the High Sierra Lacrosse League. The HSLL governs lacrosse in North Nevada and Tahoe. In the near future TEA will field both, a girls and boys lacrosse programs.
