At TEA, we believe education should prepare young people not simply to succeed in school, but to think deeply, navigate complexity, contribute meaningfully, and continue learning throughout their lives.
That begins with putting students at the center of their education.
Our students are known by the adults who teach them. They are challenged to ask questions, explore different perspectives, take meaningful risks, and apply their learning beyond the classroom. Whether they are working alongside an expert, investigating a real-world problem, learning in the field, or grappling with an idea that does not have an easy answer, they are developing habits that will serve them long after they leave TEA.
This is what excites me about our approach to academic rigor. We hold high expectations for what students know and can do, while recognizing that some of the most important learning happens when young people encounter uncertainty, experience productive struggle, and discover that they are capable of more than they initially believed.
None of this happens without extraordinary educators. What inspires me most about TEA is the commitment of our faculty and staff. They bring tremendous expertise, care, curiosity, and intention to their work with students every day.
Families are an essential part of that work, too. I believe deeply in the partnership between school and home, and in helping families understand not only what their children are learning, but why we approach learning the way we do. Together, we can create the conditions for young people to become confident thinkers, compassionate community members, and creative problem solvers prepared to engage with an ever-changing world.
I am especially proud of our students’ outstanding college and career outcomes, which reflect the strength of TEA’s educational model and our commitment to preparing young people for success well beyond graduation.
