Ceramics Club

Join Art Teacher, Charlotte Semmes, for Ceramics Club.

In this club students will learn simple hand-building techniques through imaginative clay projects using multiple methods: pinch pots, coiling, slab building and surface texture. Create an uncommon cup or a pinch pot clay monster. Come prepared to get your hands dirty!

Ceramics Club Details

Instructor​: Charlotte Semmes, Upper School Art TEAcher. Charlotte studied Fine Arts and Anthropology at Skidmore College in upstate New York. She then pursued her longtime passion of working in textile and apparel industries in San Francisco. In 2011, Charlotte received a teaching fellowship in a newly evolved Design research program at UC Davis where she completed her MFA in Textiles. Realizing the joy she found working one-on-one with students, she acquired her California teaching credential in Art. She trained at a Waldorf-inspired high school in Sacramento and taught for one year in the Central Valley before coming to Truckee. She has taught locally for Arts for the Schools and Sierra College. This is her 4th year at TEA.

Who: 2nd to 5th graders girls and boys. No experience required. However keen interest in art and creative design are musts!

When​: Mondays (7) from 3:15PM to 4:15PM.
