Hawks Quote of the Week

“We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.”
— Max de Pree

Opportunities to Support Our Students

Welcome Back CommuniTEA!

Whether you stayed near or traveled far, we hope you enjoyed your spring break. It was certainly wonderful to see you and your students back on our snowy campus today.

This week we want to draw your attention to several important opportunities where we can come together in support of our students.

First, please consider joining us this Wednesday and Thursday for The Summit - Senior Capstone Presentations in Building One from 4-8pm each day. The members of the class of 2026 have been conducting a deep dive into their topics of interest for over a year, and they are excited to share their expert insights in short, but impactful presentations over the course of two days.

The breadth and diversity of examinations will absolutely impress and inspire. If you want to see what happens when rigorous academic curiosity is encouraged, please consider joining for part or all of this event. You can RSVP HERE.

This Friday, please head over to Alibi after school for TAP supported Bingo. Christopher Barnes will once again be calling out the numbers and for just $5 per person (pay cash or card when you arrive), you can play with friends! No RSVP required – just show up!

Finally, the Grit & Glamour Gala is in less than one month! This annual event is both a vital fundraising initiative, as well as a fantastic opportunity to shower our teachers with love, lean in to our values, and generously support our students.

Tickets are on sale now! Grab a few friends and purchase a discounted table today.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

CultureFest 2026!

Mark your calendars for CultureFest on May 21, a vibrant, community-wide celebration of identity, culture, and connection.

What began last year as a student-led International Food Festival has grown into something even more expansive. Led by TEA junior Lola Slatt, this event reflects the power of student voice and what’s possible when an idea is nurtured, supported, and brought to life. With guidance from faculty, Lola has grown this event from a campus gathering into a Truckee-wide invitation.

Culture Fest centers on a simple but powerful idea: that sharing food, stories, and traditions can deepen understanding and build belonging. Through cuisine, conversation, and cultural exchange, the event creates space for people to learn from one another’s lived experiences and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

This is TEA in action; Students identifying a need, taking initiative, and creating meaningful experiences that extend beyond our campus and into the broader community.

Celebrating Our Grit & Glamour Sponsors

Our Grit & Glamour Gala would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our sponsors. Their support underwrites the cost of the event, ensuring that every dollar raised on Gala night goes directly to our students, faculty, and programs; from fieldwork and financial aid, to the people who make TEA extraordinary.

In the weeks leading up to the Gala, we are excited to highlight the partners who make this night – and this impact – possible.

We are proud to begin with Board Chair Tori Long and Carr Long Realty whose leadership and continued generosity have made them one of our top sponsors year after year. Their commitment to TEA reflects a deep belief in our mission and in the power of this community.

We are so grateful for their partnership and for all those who help bring Grit & Glamour to life.

We can’t wait to parTEA with  you!

TAP Meeting Recap & Pizza Day This Week

TEA’s Association of Parents had an exciting meeting today, beginning with an announcement from Christopher on the next Town Hall, tentatively planned for later this month – details will be announced soon! The town hall will be focused on enrollment and strategic planning. The town Hall will be available in- person, via a live stream, as well as recorded to view after.

The teachers and staff are in for a special Teacher Appreciation Week happening May 11-15. Room parents will contact their classes with opportunities to shower our teachers with love and support!
