Thank You for an Incredible Gala!

What an incredible evening we shared together at the Gala.

The energy in the room was truly special as our communiTEA gathered to celebrate and invest in the bold spirit of Tahoe Expedition Academy. Thanks to the generosity and partnership of this community, we not only met our fundraising goal of $750,000, but surpassed it.

From the student and faculty testimonials to the stories shared throughout the evening, we were reminded of the profound impact of a TEA education and the people who make this place so meaningful.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Gala Committee, and to Jill, Courtenay, our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and every person who helped create such a memorable night. Events like this do not happen without tremendous care, creativity, and collaboration.

This year has asked all of us to lean into challenge, uncertainty, and possibility. Saturday night was a powerful reminder that this community continues to show up with generosity, optimism, and belief in our mission.

Thank you for your partnership and for continuing to invest in the students, educators, and future of TEA.

Cheers,
Christopher

May Events are Blooming!

May is an extremely busy month at TEA! Rather than “flowers,” we seem to bloom events. From the Gala last weekend, to Grandparents and Special Friends Day this Friday, to the upcoming Middle School Dance, High School Prom, CultureFest and the Rainbow Run, you will not be short on opportunities to come together as a communiTEA.

A few notes about each one.

  1. With respect to Grandparents and Special Friends Day, PLEASE be sure to RSVP for any guests. An email confirmation will go out to registered participants tomorrow morning with details, and we would love to get that information to everyone who plans to attend. Additionally, we order food and arrange classrooms based on our anticipated numbers. Thanks in advance for helping us plan accurately.
  2. CultureFest is rapidly approaching on Thursday, May 21st. This student inspired and organized event is in need of “vendors” – volunteers who are willing to bring a slice of their family history via food. Please sign up here!
  3. Finally, our exciting month caps off with the 3rd Annual Rainbow Run! Please join us on the Legacy Trail on Sunday, May 31st. Registration is OPEN, and we are hoping to surpass last year’s attendance. A volunteer sign up form will be shared next week.

We can’t wait to see you on and off campus this month!

Mexico Experience

Silent Auction Closes This Friday!

WOW! What a brilliant demonstration of our special communiTEA on Saturday night. I can’t sufficiently thank our Gala TEAm and every single person who stepped up and contributed (either in person or via a proxy bid) to ensure that we met our fundraising target.

The fun isn’t over yet! TEA's Silent Auction will remain open through midnight, Friday, May 15th, and there are still LOTS of amazing items to choose from. Please be sure to forward the link to friends and family members who are outside of our community, but may want to take advantage of the incredible experiences.

One of the live lots from Saturday (#8) is now available to online shoppers. The Luxurious 7 Night Vidanta Resort Escape to the Mexican Coast is available for the “buy it now” price of $2,500 per family, and we can sell it as many times as we want! Families can plan to travel together over one of the upcoming breaks and stay at the same resort. Plan a group trip and take advantage of this great deal!

Teacher Breakfast

Teacher Appreciation Week!

Thank you to all the parents and guardians who kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week this morning with breakfast for our faculty and staff!

The communiTEA is still riding high from the incredible success of the Gala, and Christopher reflected on how powerfully the evening demonstrated who we are as a school at this morning's TAP meeting.

There are still so many uniquely TEA moments ahead this spring.
  • Don’t miss Grandparents and Special Friends Day this Friday, when loved ones will visit classrooms, share lunch, and gather together for an all-school hearth.
  • From the Middle School Dance and High School Prom to Culture Fest, the Rainbow Run, All School Olympics, and Graduation, there are countless ways to connect, participate, and help strengthen our communiTEA.

Please join us for our final TAP meeting of the year on Monday, June 8 at 8:45a!

TAP is also looking for volunteers interested in stepping into leadership roles next year, including Vice President, Treasurer, and Fieldwork Support. It’s a meaningful, energizing, and genuinely fun way to get involved.

If you’re interested, please contact TAP President Kim Burns at kim@thekb-collective.com.

MAY PIZZA DAYS!

Students will be given either cheese pizza (two slices) or pepperoni pizza (two slices), a piece of fruit and a drink (bubbly water) - all for either $10 or $12 dollars. Gluten Free Pizza is also available. Please select the meal you'd like to order for your child when you pay. Pizza is from Best Pies. Pizza purchases will close TOMORROW 5/12 at 12 pm.

Our next Upper School Pizza Day is on May 28th. Pizza purchases will close on 5/27 at 12pm.

If you are ever unsure if you've ordered already for your student, just reach out to Courtenay Wallpe. She can check the roster for you!
