Giving Welcome Donate Now!
While the true value of a Tahoe Expedition Academy education is hard to quantify, the cost of educating each student at TEA exceeds tuition every year. We supplement funding for our educational and extracurricular programs with money generated from annual fundraising activities, special gifts to the school and, from time to time, capital campaigns. The generosity of Tahoe Expedition Academy’s supporters, enables us not only to maintain but also to enhance the quality of our student’s educational experience each and every day.
Fundraising Events
Fundraising events are essential to a broad range of programs at the school, including tuition assistance, advanced faculty training, and classroom enhancements. TEA will have a two fundraising event this school year, The First, The TEA Trailblazer Trek on January 25th, 2013. TEA Trailblazer Trek promises to be a fun full moonlight guided snow shoe tour, held at the Northstar ski Resort and Village!
The second event, the spring annual scholarship focused community event. Held on May 18th, 2013. Our goal is to have fun - providing parents the opportunity to socialize with other TEA School families, and friends - while raising money for future facilities, tuition assistance and program enrichment. Corporate and individual underwriting support, the purchase of event tickets, donations of auction items, and volunteering your time and talent are all important ways you can get involved.
Major Gifts and Planned Giving
Tahoe Expedition Academy welcomes gifts – planned, bequests, or otherwise - outside of capital campaign cycles to support its long-range financial stability, programs and the endowment. Please contact Taylor Simmers, Co-Head of School, to discuss the possibilities and benefits of such a gift at 530-546-LAKE.
Annual Fund Donate Now!
The true value of a Tahoe Expedition Academy education is hard to quantify; however, tuition does not cover the full cost of educating each child. The Annual Giving Fund is the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts because it is the second largest source of the school's revenue after tuition. These funds directly support our operating budget. With 70% of the annual budget directed to faculty and staff compensation, contributions to the Annual Fund increase our ability to attract and retain the most qualified and motivated teachers and support the integrity of our program.
The Annual Fund supports many additional aspects of the school, such as providing scholarships for students whose families cannot afford to pay full tuition. Each year we ask families, faculty, staff and friends of the school to make a gift that is complementary to their means; no gift is too small or too large. Our goal is 100% participation. Every gift – from $25 to $25,000 - is important because it symbolizes your belief that the educational opportunities that TEA provides are essential.
Your involvement makes a difference. Your gift helps us maintain a strong operating budget and provides the resources that equip and allow our teachers to do great work year after year. Your gift also supports the school’s fiscal credibility, providing pluralism within our student population and helps us garner additional support from foundations, corporations, and others looking to invest in the school.

Capital Campaign Donate Now!
A capital campaign is a special effort to raise funds for long-range purposes such as building projects and endowment. In contrast to yearly fundraising efforts such as Annual Giving/scholarship, capital campaigns at independent schools typically occur every 2-5 years. However, when academies such as TEA, is striving for a more permanent future facility and new campus to house its student community, it will occur annually or bi-annually until that goal is reached. School’s current and future students benefit from current capital campaigns. Donors often view their gifts as an investment in an educational institution that will further the long-term mission of the school. During a capital campaign, we encourage families to continue to support Annual Giving, as it is as important to fund the ongoing academic program of a school. Our capital campaign is an investment in 21st century learning and future facilities at Tahoe Expedition Academy. The expansion and new campus and facility will enable us to provide the best possible education for current and future generations of students. We hope that you will join us as we develop Tahoe Expedition Academy.

Spring Fundraiser
The Tahoe Expedition Academy, founded in 2011, invites you to take part in our academic fundraising effort and our second annual Spring Fundraising event, being held on Friday, May 3rd, 2013, at Gar Woods on Lake Tahoe at 5:30pm.
Tahoe Expedition Academy’s spring fundraising event, is a fully parent volunteer driven event. Proceeds from the event subsidize the TEA Annual Fund, which is dedicated to our day-to-day operations and includes, but is not limited to: scholarships, learning expeditions and fields studies and talented teacher recruitment. Because tuition does not cover the cost of educating each child, the Annual Fund is a necessity for us to provide an exceptional learning experience for our students.
Please explore the donation detail button for more information and details about the event.
