Join Spanish Teacher, Merinda Zywicz, for Spanish Club.
Spanish Club participants will learn through kinetic style instruction from Upper School Spanish Teacher and Club Lead, Merinda Zywicz. Kinetic style instruction is active, fun and involved – students will learn by acting out and demonstrating words and phrases. Students will reinforce learning through Spanish word and phrase call outs, as well as through fun Spanish style arts and games. This club is offered in consecutive six week learning blocks.
Instructor: Merinda Zywicz began instructing the Spanish program at TEA in Spring ‘19. She studied international development at UC Berkeley with a focus on Latin America. Merinda previously worked in Chile with the Committee of Flora and Fauna of Chile and in Costa Rica with a cultural exchange program for high schoolers. She also spent a year as an au pair and English teacher in Madrid. Merinda developed her Spanish fluency from her time residing in Spanish language countries and with formal, traditional classroom education.
Who: Kindergarten – 5th graders, split into cohorts. Designed for beginner to intermediate Spanish students.
When: Once a week from 3:00-4:15pm in Winter and Spring. Specific dates TBA.
Where: Tahoe Expedition Academy Base Camp located at 9765 Schaffer Mill Rd. Truckee, CA 96161.
Capacity: This club is limited to 12 participants.
Cost: $125 per student, per 6 week course (includes all materials).
