If you’re part of our school’s community, you’ve been fortunate enough to have a few conversations with Taylor Simmers, our school’s co-founder. You’ve probably walked away from those conversations feeling inspired and motivated to innovate and create something.

If you haven’t (yet) spent any time with Taylor, this 57-minute long podcast is the next best thing. Hear Taylor’s views on the importance of what we call “constructive adversity” and how it makes our school unique and different.

Taylor has worked in the education field for nearly 20 years. His idea to spearhead the development of a different kind of school came to fruition in 2011. With a small, like-minded crew, they first launched Tahoe Expedition Academy and later +Impact School.

The educational environment is founded on engaging academics with real world adventures. Taylor explains in the podcast how the adolescent brain responds better when leaving its comfort zone and how their curriculum empowers students to reach their full potential while cultivating intellectual growth, character, and confidence.
