Visual Arts + Creative Expression
In this offering student-artists will explore visual expression through a variety of art mediums. Participants will use pencils, water color, chalk, acrylic paint, dyes, and clay to create works of art. Crafts will draw inspiration from the changing fall / winter season, holidays themes, nature and landscapes.

Who: Designed for Kindergarten – 5th grade, separated into grade blocks – see below.
When: Tuesdays or Thursdays (by grade) from 3:00 – 4:30pm, for 6 sessions total. Dates are scheduled on the school calendar linked here.
- 3rd – 5th grade: Tuesday, beginning March 21.

Where: Lower School Art Cottage
Instructors: Ana Remis, professional artist and educator.
Ana is a lizard catching, tree ID-ing citizen scientist whose passions lie in interdisciplinary avenues of promoting STEAM engagement for all, enjoying nature, reading, and making art. Originally from Miami, FL, Ana double majored in Environmental Studies and Design and Technology at Parsons. After graduating Ana moved to Reno, where she is currently enrolled inIn this offering student-artists will explore visual expression through a variety of art mediums. Participants will use pencils, water color, chalk, acrylic paint, dyes, and clay to create works of art. Crafts will draw inspiration from the changing fall / winter season, holidays themes, nature and landscapes Sierra Nevada University’s Masters of Arts in Teaching program and is having a blast exploring the beauty of Tahoe and the Sierras with students at Tahoe Expedition Academy.
Capacity: 14 student artists per day.
What to Bring: Art supplies will be provided. Please bring a snack and water.
