Learn to Play Lacrosse - The Right Way!

Did you know that 80% of women’s and men’s college lacrosse practices are dedicated to fundamental lacrosse stick work? In this six session series, participants new to intermediate will learn and refine how tos like: Pass and Catch with a Purpose, Shoot on the Run, Step Down and Quick Stick, How to Cut and Dodge and more! Proper mechanics, stick techniques, footwork and fun will be emphasized throughout.

Workouts are specifically designed for new to intermediate players from 2nd – 5th grade. This is a non-contact, speed version of lacrosse, fundamentals will be highlighted – equipment will be provided on site.

Who: 2nd – 5th grade.

When​: Mondays, beginning September 11 from 3:00 – 4:45pm. All dates are scheduled on the school calendar linked here.

Where: Tahoe Expedition Academy on Martis Valley Education Funds’ pristine, grass field.

Instructor​: Taylor Simmers –  Taylor’s success in the classroom and on the field at Landon School earned him a spot on Princeton’s Men’s Lacrosse Team, where he dominated as an all IVY League, All-American and Scholar All-American Attackman and 2X NCAA Champion. Taylor played internationally for Team Germany in the European Championships, where he was named the tournament MVP, and in the World Cup, where he set a single game assist record. He also played in the MLL for the San Francisco Dragons and NLL for the Philadelphia Wings. As a professional educator and long time lacrosse player and aficionado, he’s simply one of the best coaches in lacrosse.

Capacity: 15 students.

What to Bring: Water bottle, snack, athletic clothes, cleats and a coachable mindset. If your child doesn’t have a lacrosse stick it will be provided.
