The Challenge Hike was an opportunity for the big kids to aid in the passage and perseverance of the littler Pre-K kids. On this 6 mile journey, the Pre-K crew members carry their own packs and are teamed up with an older buddy. The older buddy has the responsibility to have the patience and courage to help their little buddy out for the entire 6 miles. It was empowering for both the little kids and big kids to walk hand in hand for this long, hot hike. This is called a challenge hike for many reasons. Kids fell and got cut up, or got hot and tired, many ups and downs but all in all the smiles remained and the laughs were infectious.

After the hike, everyone met at the Hearth to appreciate the Pre-K crews and leaders for another outstanding year at our beloved TEA. Here is a short clip of what one the Pre-K Crew Leaders describes as the Challenge Hike, miss Annie Burnett.
