Bikers will navigate the single-track trails of the Tahoe Basin and Truckee with knowledgeable, experienced TEA faculty and other skilled coaches.
Riders will learn shifting and pedaling best practices, proper body positioning, how to climb / descend technical terrain and much more.
Who: Girls and boys, 1st – 6th graders, beginner to intermediate riders. Beginner bikers are those without club experience. Riders will be split by age and experience into two rider groups. 1st graders should be accompanied by a parent.
Where: Depart from Tahoe Expedition Academy Base Camp located at 9765 Schaffer Mill Rd. Truckee, CA 96161 for nearby rides at the Truckee Bike Park, Emigrant Trail, Tahoe Donner, Prosser and the like.
When: Mondays from 3:15. Rides typically end by ~5pm, varies by ride location. See specific dates on our school calendar.
Limit: 14 student bikers.
Materials: Participants will need their own bike (one that is in good working order), any special tools for fixing flats, spare tube, helmet, gloves and hydration system.
