Tree to Tummy: PreK Students Harvest Local Apples and Make Applesauce

Daily work in our classroom has found the students strolling through the woods, harvesting apples from a local tree in Kings Beach, making homemade applesauce, reading mini-books and singing Nursery Rhymes, reading and listening to stories, playing math games, giving compliments and appreciations, learning to recognize a letter a week, and lastly readjusting to our routine after our week off in October.

If you have access to an apple tree, check out this awesome crock pot recipe for making applesauce. Store-bought apples work great too!
